"ROCK-ON"
Outdoor Education Retreat--May 26-28
Custom Retreat

Athelas' base camp on Pinkham will be host to a classroom full of Trinity Lutheran School 6th graders,  parent chaperones and teacher, Mr. David Topp.  This two night, three day outdoor education adventure includes both small group and large group sessions .  Rock climbing, horseback riding, camping and hiking have been worked into the event schedule.  Lodging is in basecamp wall tents.  We will be hiking to a  'rocky mountain'  fire look-out tower.   Campfire devotions, singing, and solo as well as partner prayer time help participants reflect on all aspects of the adventure.   If you would like us to custom design a youth adventure for your school or group contact us.

$185 per student/Ask about chaperone rates

Bob Marshall Wilderness Backpacking
 Expedition

Ready to embark on a week long wilderness backpacking expedition Traversing the trails into "The Bob" from the trail head at Swift Reservoir on the Rocky Mountain front puts you immediately into some of the wildest of the wilds.  This loop trail takes you over and through the mountains by way of Gateway and Badger passes.  A back country Forest Service cabin at Sabido gives participants a glimpse of how people of the past lived. Youth learn 'leave no trace' camping precepts, first aid and safety issues, camp cooking, trail navigation,  and leadership skills.  Campfire devotions, bible study and solo reflective times are integral to renewal and refreshment on the spiritual level.  Groups form a cohesiveness that is hard to duplicate in any other way.  Of course fishing in icy cold mountain streams and creative campfire meals make the long arduous daily hiking all worth it! Check out a camp menu here.  Want a similar experience for your youth?  Contact us!

Cost is $285 per person
(prices vary for each custom trip depending on activities included)

"Many Exciting Adventures"
MEA  Kids Weekend Retreat

Many exciting adventures await kids during this retreat. Teachers are gone from the classrooms and kids have a fall reprieve.  The Pinkham Creek base camp will be the site of this retreat open to kids six years old through high school.  Exploring a fire lookout as well as rock climbing at Stone Hill will be some of the exciting adventures.  A service learning event will focus on kids using their abilities to love and serve others as they follow Jesus' example.  Age appropriate Bible games and studies will aid in spiritual conviction.  Meals, tent camping, and materials are included in the retreat fees.  We are counting on 'October's bright blue weather' but come prepared for cooler temperatures and rain possibilities!
